PSL releases fixtures early, sets new standard

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has taken a major step forward by releasing the fixtures for next year’s season, a milestone development that has got everyone excited.

This is a first of its kind in Zimbabwe, where the fixtures are being released well in advance, giving clubs ample time to prepare for the upcoming season.

The move demonstrates the PSL’s commitment to promoting football development in the country, and by releasing the fixtures early, clubs can now plan their pre-season preparations, schedule friendlies, and make necessary arrangements to ensure they are ready for the new season.

The early release of the 2026 fixtures also shows that the custodian of the country’s top tier football league is embracing professionalism and transparency, which is essential for the growth of the game.

It is a welcome change from the past, where fixtures were often released a bit late, causing chaos and headaches regards to preparations of clubs ahead of the forthcoming season.

“We commend the PSL for taking this bold step, and we hope it sets a new standard for football administration in Zimbabwe. The early release of fixtures will not only benefit the clubs but also the fans, who can now look forward to a more organised and structured season,” noted one football enthusiast Rambirai Zvoma.

Another fan, Bezel Mupona of Chitungwiza said: “Kudos to the PSL for moving in tandem with the international standards of releasing fixtures, and we hope this marks the beginning of a new era of professionalism and excellence in Zimbabwean football.”

” The latest development, without doubt, paves the way for a seamless season ahead. We hope to see more and major improvements on our game so that it reverts back to its former glory days. We are so much excited and big-up to the leadership at PSL,” noted Patience Chidemo, another football fan.

The early release of fixtures has thus come as a perfect Christmas present for topflight league clubs as it enables them to plan ahead in time for the anticipated 2026  Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign.
