CHITUNGWIZA Aquatic Complex was the place to be this Friday night for sungura music enthusiasts who thronged the venue to witness the genre’s kingpin Alick Macheso launching his 12th album titled “Tinosvitswa Nashe”.
Scores of die-hard Macheso fans braved the chilly weather, making their way to Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex to witness the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman showcasing his vocal prowess and guitar strumming skills during the launch of his latest 6-track album.

The show, which was oversubscribed, saw former Orchestra mberikwazvo band member Franco Slomo, join his former master on stage, which seemed to be the highlight of the evening.
The album Tinosvitswa Nashe comprises songs such as Ndimi Vanhu Vacho, Kutadzirana and Impfa Nimulandi, which seem to be favourites for many.
Fellow artists who include Madzibaba Nicholas Zachariah, Selmor Mtukudzi, Baba Harare, Andy Muridzo and Suluman Chimbetu attended the album launch and all delivered spirited performances.
Cheso power as he is affectionately known by his legion of fans, launched his solo music career in 1998 with an album titled Magariro.
He now has 12 albums under his belt which include Simbaradzo, Vakiridzo, Zvakanaka Zvakadaro and Vapupuri Pupurai.
