THE year has started on a good note for talented musicians Nutty O and Janet Manyowa after dominating the Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) nominations.
The talented Dancehall crooner Nutty O, who is riding high on his latest offering Mustard Seed, is on the ZIMA nominees list with seven nominations.
He has been nominated in the Best Male Artist, Song of the Year, Best Album and Best Collaboration for Ngifuna Wena with South Africa’s Nhlanhla and DJ Zandimaz.
Not to be outdone is award winning gospel sensation Janet Manyowa who received four nominations at the same awards.
The Ndimi Mwari hitmaker has been nominated in categories which include Best Female Artist and Best Contemporary Gospel.
Meanwhile, Hip-hop star Takura seems to have struck the right chord with his new video Haaroore which according to YouTube, is the number 1 trending song in the country.
Still on a positive note, another hip-hop star Holy Ten, becomes the first artist from that genre to reach 100 thousand YouTube subscribers.
Elsewhere in the music industry, there is huge anticipation for Sandra Ndebele’s collaborative act with Mai Titi titled “Masibambaneni”.
