Mai Mwamuka scoops Classic 263 Radio Top 30 Gospel Chart Show prize

Gospel artist Mai Mwamuka is the winner of the inaugural Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation’s Classic 263 Radio Top 30 Gospel Chart Show, with her song ‘Totenda Jesu’.

The competition was held in collaboration with a local beverages company to reward artists who came out victorious in the station’s end of year Gospel Chart Show.

Celebrated gospel sensation Janet Manyowa’s Ngatimukudzei Mwari took second position, while Tapiwa Musara landed the 3rd prize with his song Mafaro.

Classic 263 Radio’s Rumbidzai Matinanga, who produces and presents the show highlighted that most artists showed resilience in the wake of COVID-19.

“2021 was a difficult year for artists since they could hardly perform owing to COVID-19. This is the reason why we decided to honour the winners with cash prizes,” said Matinanga.

Classic 263 Radio station manager Terrence Mapurisana thanked the listeners for their contribution to the success of the show.

“As a station, we would like to thank our listeners for voting and our sponsors, ZLG,” Mapurisana said.

The first prize winner, Mai Mwamuka walked away US$500 richer, while Janet Manyowa pocketed US$300 and Tapiwa Musara walked away with US$200.
