Revered township jazz maestro Tanga wekwaSando, who has returned to the music scene after a long hiatus, has come up with a new beat called Zagga.
Zagga is a fusion of traditional mhende and jit.
The new sound in his 16th album consists of renditions of his previous songs like Wake and new songs such as Vavisa, Makandinzwa Nani and Newe.
The vocal beast who launched his career in 1970s with the Harare Mambos, is famed for songs like Wake, Pafiyo, Buhera, and Vakomana Vekwedu, a tribute to the senior men national football team, the Warriors.
Tanga is a 2004 National Arts Merit Award winner and a 2005 KORA award nominee for tracks such as Wake, Paidamoyo and Nyenyedzi.
