The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation, ZBC, has been recognised for its charitable works as well as playing a key role in environmental awareness.
For its charitable works, consistent and factual reportage on environmental awareness, the corporation was honoured at the Corporate Social Responsibility Business Awards held in Harare this Friday.
Recognised for carrying out its role on informing and educating the nation on environmental awareness, three reporters from the national broadcaster, Tapiwa Machemedze, Kenias Chivuzhe and Mhlomuli Ncube were honoured for their sterling and consistent reportage on environmental awareness issues.
ZBC Acting Human Resources and Corporate Communications Manager Ms Rumbi Moyo said the state owned broadcaster has not shied away from being a torchbearer in positive reportage and carrying charitable works.
“The institution has been at the forefront in terms of raising awareness in this area and our bulletins regularly carry stories which raise awareness on the dangers of degrading the environment. So, it comes as no surprise that these awards have been given to our three reporters,” she said.
The State Broadcaster also scooped the Excellence Award for championing various acts of charity which have transformed the lives of many disadvantaged people.
