THE Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is still the best in the broadcasting industry with two of its radio stations dominating the airwaves.

ZBC’s flagship radio stations continue to rule the roost in the broadcasting industry after Radio Zimbabwe scooped the Radio Leader of the year gold medal award while Classic 263 bagged a bronze at the renowned Megafest Awards held on Wednesday Night.

“I need to thank my team at Radio Zimbabwe for the job well done and this award also goes to our myriad of listeners countrywide who have always inspired us to do best,” said Siphelani Chikwape, Radio Zimbabwe Station Manager.

“Since our rebranding, we have managed to go back to the drawing board and refocused what we can do to appeal to our niche market,” said Terrence Mapurisana, Classic 263 Station Manager.

ZBC Director Radio Services, Robson Mhandu said the national broadcaster’s radio stations remain at the top as a result of their ability to adapt to modern broadcasting trends in line with the needs of listeners.

“We have demonstrated for years that we are on top of the situation in terms of providing our diverse internship of a wide range of programmes. We remain truly committed to always remain committed to prevail over others who are coming in.”

The national broadcaster is undergoing massive transformation including the digitalisation programme, which will improve the signal of its radio and television channels.
