Macheso’s children start fashion label

ALICK Macheso’s son, Esau MacNulty, has taken a step towards immortalising his father’s legacy by embarking on a fashion business venture.

The Sungura kingpin’s soft spoken son who has stayed out of the limelight, had been a curtain raiser at his father’s shows before the Covid-19 pandemic.

He is upbeat about the new venture which will bring the Cheso Power brand forward.

“I believe my father is a big brand and it is no mistake that I have also grown a liking for music,” he says.

“Fashion is, however, a new venture for and I’m encouraged by the strides and level of interest from the public.”

Esau has also roped in his sister, Monalisa, who is also the model and face of the brand in the business.

“I am not really out there, but Monalisa has always had a liking for fashion so we are working together to push this Alick Macheso Music label.”

The two are producing quality and professionally branded T-shirts, caps and hoodie which are proving to be a hit among fans.

Monalisa says they are hoping to capitalise more by opening a merchandise shop and direct sales if the government announces a return of live shows.
