The First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa has been hailed for complementing government efforts in enhancing the well-being of persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe.

The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare has received an assortment of food items meant for persons with disabilities from the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa through her Angel of Hope Foundation.

On behalf of Minister Paul Mavhima, Dr Christine Peta who is the Director of Disability Affairs in the ministry, commended the First Lady for her passion and commitment towards the empowerment of vulnerable groups.

“The First Lady’s passion towards enhancing lives of the vulnerable has long been evident. Indeed, Angel of Hope Foundation has become a potent vehicle of her philanthropic work. She has taken time and continues to take time to talk to people including people at grassroots level in both urban and rural areas, so that she gains an understanding of their needs and concerns and she responds accordingly. Her biggest strengths include her humility and love for people from all walks of life including persons with disabilities.”

The food hampers will be distributed to persons with disabilities through their representative organisations.
