DEMOCRAT, Joe Biden has officially been sworn in as the 46th United States President
His oath of office was administered by Supreme Court justice John Roberts.
Mr Biden took the oath of office outside the US Capitol with extra-tight security after the building was stormed by violent pro-trump protesters in a deadly riot on the 6 January.
Vice-President Kamala Harris has taken her oath too – becoming the first woman to hold that position.
Some 25,000 troops are guarding the inauguration ceremony which was missing the traditional hundreds of thousands of spectators because of the coronavirus pandemic.
