By Bebe

Who is Bebe?

Bebe is fun, vivacious and driven. I never let things get me down, im a glass half full kind of girl and i want to share my positive attitude with everyone. And i love music, music is me, me is music i cant even begin to relate how music has shaped me and healed me. I believe there is a song for every mood. For this reason, am glad to provide the soundtrack to peoples lives now.

2. How would you describe your presenting style

My presenting style is very pop,R n B and hiphop centred but of course dance music whether its kwaito, gqom or dancehall comes in a lot. I am young and  am on the pulse of the newest trends and i love to talk about things that people are thinking. My aim is to open up people’s minds to new ideas and positive ways of thinking while keeping it fun and entertaining.

3. What is it that people should watch out for from you

Entertainment, originality, great music and sass. I plan on being around for  the longest time. I wanna be the voice that accompanies the listener through the day and through a time in their lives.

4. How was the moment like, when you heard you had made the final cut on PowerFM Auditions

Shuuuu mtase! The call backs took so long i actually thought i hadn’t made it, when i got the call i literally cried. I was really emotional. I’ve wanted this for a long time.

5. How has the experience been like so far being on the country’s biggest radio station

It has been an experience of a lifetime. My first time on air i was sweating so much and i was so nervous but i came to realise that if you just put your heart out there, the listeners respond and give you their hearts too. I’ve loved every minute of it and PowerFM is the coolest place ever.

6. Any role models

I have people that i admire and aspire to achieve the same for different reasons. My mum is the first, she is resilient and kind and no matter what happens she remains with a positive outlook on life and remains the same kind loving person.
Oprah. She started on radio as well and persevered against the odds to become one of the most powerful women in the world.
Debra L Lee the CEO of a big music channel in America. She has made a huge contribution to music, the culture and the upliftment of black people in the entertainment industry.
Mo Abudu started her own tv network right here in Africa that broadcasts in over 49 countries in Africa,UK and the Caribbean. She is the most powerful woman in African media.
Strong women that are going above and beyond to change the narrative of women in Africa and beyond inspire me.

7. Future goals

To take PowerFM to new levels and help in growing listenership.
To grow my profile here at PowerFM and become a household name.
To go into tv and film. Im interested in producing and acting.
Ultimately to become a media mogul like the women i admire.
