I am going to keep this brief, because you’re not going to stick around for long. So here’s the story.
Because she is a girl society views her as not so worthy
Because she is a girl her voice doesn’t matter
Because she is a girl her voice is silenced
Because she is a girl her place is said to be in the kitchen
Because she is a girl she is subjected to all kinds of injustices from vultures who are men
Because she is a girl she is used as a pawn for her family’s survival
Because she is a girl she has to justify her existence according to societal expectations
Because she is a girl her greatest achievement in life is defined by holding “the famous marriage certificate.”
As we celebrate The International Girl Child Day let’s work together in advocating for #ASkilledGirlChild.
