Merciless Zimbabwes is the baddest dancehall DJ and MC who shows no mercy when it comes to rocking radio and pushing great Zim Dancehall. He is our personality of the week and we had a chat with him to find out hwta makes him tick and this is what he had to say .
I was born Tatenda Charlton Nyevera on the 3rd of July 1990.Born in a Christian family hence did my primary learning at St Peters Primary school. I went for my O’level at Gutu High Mission and A’level doing Art subjects at Speciss College. Since 2008 I have been associated with music dancehall to be specific credit to King Labash of the ‘kukonzeresa’ fame who introduced me to the industry. From therenwent on to join Legendary Sound (Badman Bee, Smylie, Mad Vancho, dj Simmz, Zaione) and The Redfox community (marasta) led by Elder Robert Zhuwawo where we changed the dimension of how dancehall was viewed (ghetto music). Went on to spread the dancehall gospel to almost every part of the country and in Southern Africa (Bostwana,South Africa and Mozambique).
I have been part been part as an MC for almost every dancehall show involving both local and international artist. In 2014 I started my own label Ooh WoW Empire which has fast grown and became a force to reckon in the industry.
Apart from being a DJ or MC, Merciless Zimbabwe is also a TV personality who presented Rockers Island on Bos Tv from 2013-2014 till the station was closed. I later joined ZBC in 2015 and presented Jamdown, both reggae and dancehall related shows. Currently I host the baddest dancehall shows in Zimbabwe, Weddy Weddy Wednesday and Bashement Saturday on the biggest radio station Power FM Zimbabwe
